Car disposal is a solution when the vehicle is no longer suitable for operation, and it is important for the owner not only to hand it over for disposal, but also to obtain an ENTP certificate, which is necessary for state compensation. Metruna ensures that the entire process – from picking up the car to issuing the necessary documents – is smooth and fast. The service is provided throughout Lithuania.
Car recycling is usually beneficial when:
The car has been unused for a long time, has not been driven, and does not have a valid technical inspection.
The vehicle is severely damaged or broken down after a traffic accident.
The insurance company declared the vehicle economically beyond repair.
The aim is to free up space in the yard, garage or other area where there is an unused car.
We want to deregister the car responsibly, in compliance with all legal requirements.
We plan to apply for state compensation after purchasing a less polluting car and deregistering the destroyed old car.

In Lithuania Are you planning to purchase a less polluting vehicle and take advantage of state compensation? The first step is to dispose of your old car. It must be carried out by a company that has the right to issue a certificate proving the destruction of an ENTP (unserviceable vehicle). This document is necessary in order to officially deregister the car from the Lithuanian Road Vehicle Register. You can find a full list of such companies here – it includes UAB Metruna.
In Lithuania, after purchasing and registering a less polluting car, an application for compensation is submitted through the APVIS system. In order to receive it, both the disposal of the car and the purchase of a new vehicle must be carried out in the name of the same natural person. The application for compensation should only be submitted to the system when both processes – the disposal of the car and the purchase of a new car – have already been completed. It does not matter whether the old car is disposed of first or the new car is purchased. Only one compensation payment of EUR 1,000 can be granted per person.
There are no criteria for the model, year or fuel type of an old car – this means that car disposal is possible for practically all vehicles. However, there are certain requirements for a less polluting car: its first registration in the EU must be on or after 1 January 2014, and its CO₂ emissions must not exceed 130 g/km. Only vehicles that run on petrol, gas, ethanol or electricity are considered eligible.
Car recycling can be done at one of our branches, which are located in as many as 30 cities. You can find all points where scrap car purchase and car recycling are available on the map on our website.
If the car is not running or you do not have the opportunity to deliver it yourself, car disposal with removal by our transport is possible. Disposal of cars in this way is especially convenient for those whose cars are no longer suitable for operation or do not have a technical inspection and insurance, and therefore cannot be transported independently. You can agree on the arrival time and price by contacting us.
We accept not only complete cars, but also individual parts, if they can be classified as scrap metal (e.g. engines, bodies, other metal structures). In this case, the scrap metal rate is applied based on weight.
Yes, the ENTP (End-of-Life Vehicle) certificate is issued on site, immediately after the vehicle is accepted for disposal. This certificate is necessary to deregister the vehicle from the Lithuanian Road Vehicle Register. The ENTP is issued only when the vehicle is destroyed in accordance with the requirements, therefore it can only be obtained after all disposal steps have been completed.
In Lithuania, after receiving an ENTP certificate after disposing of a vehicle, it must be submitted to the State Enterprise Regitra in order for the vehicle to be officially deregistered from the Lithuanian Road Vehicle Register. This can be done online through the Regitra self-service or by visiting any branch. For more information on deregistration of a disposed vehicle, please see here.
Yes, we accept all makes and models of cars. Car recycling is possible regardless of the manufacturer, condition of the vehicle, or year of manufacture.
No, the car does not necessarily have to be fully equipped in order to be scrapped, but we would like to point out that the purchase price of a fully equipped and dismantled vehicle may differ. There are certain minimum requirements – for example, there must be a body with an identification number (VIN), an engine, and main assemblies. If non-essential parts (e.g., a battery or interior parts) are missing, this often does not prevent the issuance of a certificate. However, each case is assessed individually, so for more accurate information, we recommend contacting the nearest branch.
In Lithuania, the state currently provides a one-time compensation of EUR 1,000 for properly disposing of a car. However, the support is paid only if you purchase a less polluting car or an electric car and register it under the same name – both the old and new car must belong to the same person.
If a scrap car is sold as scrap metal and a cash payment is received for it, the income is taxed at a 5% VAT rate – as in all cases when a resident sells scrap metal. You can find out what the purchase price of scrap metal is after deducting personal income tax in the price list of each department.
