The price of metal depends on the type of metal, its quantity, the specific buyer, market demand and fluctuations in global raw material prices. Price changes are usually related to fluctuations in international raw material exchanges and seasonality of metal demand. For example, in certain periods, the price may increase or decrease due to increased activity of processors or changes in global supply chains.

We serve both individuals and legal entities, so the main difference between these two types of clients is the scope of documentation. If necessary, we can issue an invoice or certificate for the disposal of metal packaging. We also provide all the necessary certificates for individuals – for example, for the disposal of ENTP.

Scrap metal income is taxed from the first euro.
In Lithuania, if the income from scrap metal is one-time, occasional (i.e., you do not register individual activity), a 5% GPM scrap metal tax is applied. When scrap metal is sold to a company that carries out waste purchase activities (e.g., Metruna), this GPM tax is deducted by the buyer, so you do not need to additionally declare or pay income tax yourself. The State Tax Inspectorate receives this data automatically.
If you sell scrap metal regularly or earn a significant amount, you may need to register individual activity and declare income yourself. In this case, other income taxation conditions apply, depending on the type of activity, method of deducting expenses and the total amount.
It is also important to distinguish whether the metal is sold by a natural person or a legal entity. If scrap metal is delivered by a legal entity, GPM taxes are not calculated, and in accordance with Article 96(1) of the Law on Value Added Tax, reverse charge taxation is applied.
